Open Chrome (or any browser) and go to donewithoutasking.web.app
Do this on your own phone or computer first — not your child's device. You'll set everything up here, then move to their device in Step 5.
Tap Sign in with Google and choose your Google account. Use your own account — not your child's. This is how the app remembers you've got access.
You only do this once. Next time you visit, you'll go straight through.
Type in the code you were given. It looks like DWA-XXXX-XXXX. Tap Unlock Access.
Each code can only be claimed once — but once yours is claimed, your Google account is permanently linked. You won't need the code again.
Type your child's first name. Then choose a theme:
🎮 Battle Pass — CoD, Fortnite, Roblox vibes. Great for Grades 3–7.
🧜 Mermaid Adventure — Ocean, Dress to Impress, sparkles. Great for Grades R–3.
Tap Create App. You'll get a personalised link — this is your child's app URL. Keep this open for the next step.
Open the link on the device your child uses — their tablet, the family PC, or your phone. Then save it so they can get back to it easily.
- Open the link in Safari
- Tap the Share button (square with arrow)
- Tap "Add to Home Screen"
- Tap "Add" — done
- Open the link in Chrome
- Tap the 3-dot menu (top right)
- Tap "Add to Home screen"
- Tap "Add" — done
Your child opens their app and taps Daily Log (Battle Pass) or Daily Stars (Mermaid).
They tick off what they completed — homework, reading, maths, and so on. Each activity has a point value. Below that is the Daily Duties section — these are the non-negotiable chores like packing their school bag and unpacking their lunchbox.
The Stars/XP Preview at the bottom updates in real time so they can see exactly what they're going to earn before they submit.
When they're done, tap Collect Stars or Submit Log. The points go in immediately.
As your child earns points, they work their way through tiers — 20 Battle Pass tiers or 10 Dream Wardrobe tiers depending on the theme.
Each tier has a reward attached to it. When they reach a tier, the app shows it as unlocked. You still decide when and whether they actually receive the reward — the app just tracks the progress. Think of it like a receipt: the app says "they earned it", you hand it over when you're ready.
The default rewards are things like sweet treat choice, movie night pick, Roblox session, ice cream outing. You can change every single one in Parent Mode to match what works for your family.
Tap the ⚙️ Parent tab in the navigation. Enter your PIN — the default is 1234. Change this first thing so your child can't get in.
What you can customise:
🎁 Reward names — change any tier reward to something that actually motivates your child. "Choose dinner" might mean more to one kid than another.
📝 Activity names and point values — rename activities to match what your child does, or adjust the points if something is too easy or too hard relative to others.
💰 Pocket money — optionally link real money (or in-app coins) to each task. Set an amount per activity, and the weekly total shows on the dashboard. You mark it as paid each Monday.
🔐 PIN — change it to anything you like. Four digits.
Your child's progress is saved in the browser on their device. This means if the browser data gets cleared, or they switch to a new device, the progress will be gone — unless you have a backup.
At the bottom right of the app there's a 💾 Backup button. Tap it — it downloads a small file to the device. Save that file to Google Drive, WhatsApp it to yourself, or just keep it in the Downloads folder.
To restore on a new device, open the app on the new device, tap 📂 Import next to the Backup button, and choose the backup file.
